Something You'll Love

Madison natives, Saskia Taylor and Sam Lundsten, have collaborated to create one off journals intended to inspire creativity. Between the vintage album covers, each journal is filled with different types of paper for writing, sketching and even music composing. The reason you'll love them is that Taylor and Lundsten have randomly inserted unexpected inspiration pages from Bette Crocker recipes to partially completed Spanish homework to old burlesque photos. The journals are available exclusively at Atticus in store only and quantities are limited.

Your Favorites: Summer 2009

Why don't you?

Inspired by the always fashionable Diana Vreeland, who consistently challenged and redefined fashion as we know it by asking, "Why don't you?" Her always extravagant suggestions, which began appearing in Harper's Bazaar in 1936, are just as relevant and outrageous today.

About Us

We know a little about you, our beloved readers and shoppers, or at least about what you like, so we thought it was only fair to share a little about ourselves.

Kristin

Currently loving:
piping hot cappuccino, snowboarding, the smell of campfires, British Vogue and boys with guitars

Can't stand:
ketchup, windshield wipers that move too fast for the amount of rain, malls, poking on facebook and crocs

Stephani

Currently loving:
Brazil, English accents, Burt Reynolds circa 1970, flannel, swearing

Can't stand:
drinking water, wearing bright colors, Wal-Mart, bad handwriting, people who barter

Bekah

Currently loving:
dance parties, honesty, dressing up for no reason, vintage typewriters, whiskey, people who pick up the tab and preparing for a trip to Morocco

Can't stand:
pants, indecisiveness and people who don't know the difference between 'your' and 'you're'

The Justification: This One's for the Boys

My pick for the taken guy

Justification #1: Comes in four colors...you're guaranteed to look good in at least one.

Plus, your girlfriend will love you even more when she's the one wearing it!

#2: Or, for the price of one meal together, you can buy her one of her own.

I'm completely serious about this Thermal post...this is my not so subtle hint that I would like one of my own.

My pick for the single guy

Standard button down with a modern twist. Plus, it's on sale!

Justification #1: Serious epaulettes to impress the new girl's parents

Justification #2: Fun epaulettes that show your impeccable style to another new girl when the parents don't approve.

Atticus Journal 8.18.09, Vol. 107

The Justification: Charlotte Ronson Ruffle Tank

Day to night
Work to play
Conference room to cocktail hour
BLAH BLAH BLAH

Who actually wants to carry around clutches and heels in their bag all day? And who actually talks like that? I must have picked it up from the land of butterflies and pink.

Justification #1: The solution.

Paired with a bandeau, all you have to do to go from sophisticated to sexy is unzip.

The Justification: ACNE Pioneer Skirt

Justification #1: Button up for office appropriate.....

Justification #2: Button down for a good time.

Scandalous?

The Justification: T by Alexander Wang

Ode to Waaaaaannnnnnnnngggggggg:

Oh how I love thee. Obvi.

The Justification: Christopher Deane Customizable Tote

Justification #1: It's only $25...not even a weeks worth of lattes!

And if you buy this bag and write Atticusshop.com on it, I'll buy your lattes for a week!

The Justification: Loeffler Randall Gathered Paint Dress

Justification #1: Do I even have to write anything to describe how hot this dress is?!

Justification #2: My recent realization is that this dress can be doubled as a top! I'm in love even more, if it's possible!

The Justification: Relwen Bivouac Bag

Justification #1: This is the Bivouac Bag. It's extremely durable and meets most airline standards for a carry-on.

Justification #2: The Bivouac can fit a ridiculous amount of things that I personally own.

Such as:
Three pairs of ACNE jeans, the Current/Elliott Super Loved Boyfriend Jean, multiple Kai products, the Stewart+Brown Merrow Tank, a Drawstring Hem Dress by Kerrigan, two pairs of earrings and a necklace by Giles&Brother, a Christopher Deane Customizable Tote, a Kova&T Amsterdam tee and leggings, the Charlotte Ronson Embroidered Jersey Tunic, a Love Joedy Turtleneck by Aude, the Current/ Elliott Snap Jacket, an LNA Boy Tank, the Charlotte Ronson Beach Tie Dress, a Kerrigan Waist Tie Wrapper and Bandeau Tank, a Relwen Peached Henley, an Aude oversized scarf, LNA zipper leggings in two colors, a Relwen Ultralight Jacket, LNA Scoop Neck Tees in black and white, a T by Alexander Wang Boatneck Dress, and Malin+Goetz shower gel and detox face mask.

And a men's Relwen Thermal Crew in Heather Grey because I'm about to buy one.

And a pair of ACNE Heps in white and a Classic Pocket T by T by Alexander Wang...I take them from my sister's closet so much, they're practically mine.

Not to mention it can fit a small person, if you're interested. However, I think this may be frowned upon by the airlines.

The Justification: Current/Elliott Natural Destroyed Boyfriend Jean

Justification #1: They're effortless and edgy

Justification #2: Add leggings underneath to transition into fall and early spring

Not to mention you'll be channeling your inner Gisele, who apparently also likes shredded denim
(NOTE: If you're wondering, we do not sell these at Atticus)

The Justification: Relwen Surf Short

Justification #1: Girls will love the flannel feel

Justification #2: Doubles as a "surf short" for 2AM swims in the lake
